On the Issues


As a long-time resident of Missouri District 70, Paula Brown is “Your True Voice in Jefferson City”. These are some of the issues that matter most to Paula.

 
  • As an educator for 31 years, Paula knows the importance of quality public education first-hand. She has seen the challenges that arise in the classroom and firmly believes in investing in primary and secondary education. As a state representative, Paula has worked to improve public education and will continue to work to expand early childhood programs, to attract and retain quality teachers, and to make excellent education affordable.

  • Following the Covid-19 pandemic, cracks in our healthcare system have become even more clear. Paula is committed to fighting to make healthcare affordable for all, which includes reducing the cost of prescription drugs and fighting to expand mental health care benefits. As a state representative, Paula has made efforts to improve Missouri’s healthcare system by supporting Medicaid expansion and endorsing Amendment 2.

  • As a member of a Union family, Paula Brown is dedicated to supporting organized labor. Here’s the deal, unions protect worker’s rights, ensuring safe working conditions and proper benefits. Paula is a strong advocate for workers in Missouri and has voted in favor of increasing the state minimum wage.

  • As a sitting member on the Conservation and Natural Resources Committee, Paula is a champion for the environment. She is dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting a greener future. Paula has voted to subsidize research and other efforts that work to increase sustainable energy sources as well as requested more air monitors for the Champs Landfill.
